This page explains what personal data is processed when you visit Arcbotix, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Analytics and session replay

We use PostHog, an analytics provider hosted in the EU (eu.i.posthog.com, servers located in the EU), to understand which articles are useful and how visitors navigate the site. This can include anonymized session replay (a recording of on-page interactions, with all form inputs and text masked) to help us improve layout and content. PostHog acts as our data processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR); it does not use the data for its own purposes.

3. Legal basis

Processing via PostHog is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by clicking "Accept" on the banner shown on your first visit. You may withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future (see section 6).

4. No tracking before consent

No analytics script is loaded, and no analytics cookie or local storage entry is set, until you click "Accept" on the consent banner. If you click "Decline", or simply ignore the banner, PostHog is never loaded and no analytics data about you is collected. We only store your consent choice itself (in your browser's local storage) so we don't ask you again - this is strictly necessary and does not require consent.

5. What is collected after consent

• Pages visited, referrer, device/browser type, approximate location (derived from IP; the raw IP address is not stored)
• Click and scroll interaction events (autocapture)
• Anonymized session replay recordings, with all text inputs masked

We do not sell this data, and we do not share it with advertising networks or use it for ad targeting. We do not run ad-tracking pixels. Data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA.

6. Storage duration and withdrawing consent

Retention depends on the type of data:

• Session replay recordings: retained for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
• General event and analytics data (page views, clicks, autocapture): retained for up to 1 year.

To withdraw consent, clear your browser's local storage for this site (or use private/incognito browsing) and reload the page; the consent banner will reappear, and no further data is collected from that point on.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
• request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
• request erasure of your data (Art. 17)
• request restriction of processing (Art. 18)
• object to processing (Art. 21)
• request data portability (Art. 20)
• withdraw previously given consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal (Art. 7(3))
• lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77) - the authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg (LDA Brandenburg)
